The Founders

Like many great Italian ventures, this is a tale of family, friends, and shared passion. The business has grown successfully in the United States, rooted in a dream brought to life by Gianluca Vitali, a celebrated Bolognese entrepreneur.

The Pioneers

It all began with Ezio Manfroni, a visionary who changed the gelato world forever. As a founding mind behind Carpigiani, the world’s leading gelato machine manufacturer, Ezio invented the vertical mantecatore, a revolutionary batch freezer that artisans still rely on today for its ability to preserve the authenticity and texture of true Italian gelato.

The Masterchef

Finally, there’s Leonardo Ragazzi—the genius behind the recipes. As the creator of Bologna’s iconic Cremeria Funivia, Leonardo saw gelato as more than dessert; it was a tribute to his city. His recipes blend Bologna’s culture and the finest ingredients to craft unforgettable flavors. At Gelato&Co., this legacy of passion and tradition is honored, bringing the soul of Italian gelato to the world, one scoop at a time.
